I thought I might try my hand at a full-length novel. Actually, the idea germinated for about a decade, but actual work was spotty. Signing up for The Write Practice helped immensely and I was finally able to finish the book in record time.

The work is alternative history action/adventure set in the present day.

More than 175 years after the American Civil War, the United States and Confederate States of America have decided to reunify. The mighty British Empire, now a vast multinational federation, is publicly in favour. But there are whiffs of a secret scheme for the new union to move against the empire in North America. Could this be true? Would a unified America risk an immediate confrontation with the world’s largest superpower? Leighton Whittaker, a talented freelance operative from Upper Canada and a supporter of reunification, blunders into a risky mission to find out.

I am currently polishing version five of the manuscript, with the help of a developmental editor and some great beta readers.
